Early this morning, Sebastian Korda pulled off a miraculous upset over the two-time Australian Open finalist Daniil Medvedev to bust our long shot parlay. Today we are back it with traditional single plays as now the matchups are much more even compared to the early rounds.

Jenson Brooksby impressed with an incredible performance in an upset victory over 2022 U.S. Open finalist Casper Rudd in a match that took only four sets. This win was Brooksby second top five win in his career and he is playing at an extremely high level at the moment. Tommy Paul made quick work in his first round victory over Jan Leonard Struff in straight sets. His win over Fokina on Wednesday however took much more out of the 33 year old veteran. He outlasted Fokina in five sets on his way to a win in a match that took over four hours to complete. Tommy Paul leads the series over his fellow American 1-0, but the sample size is quite small and Brooksby has developed tremendously since their initial meeting. I expect this to be a hard fought battle between both Americans but Jenson Brooksby should have an edge given his recent form and concerns about Paul’s fitness after his four hour showdown with Fokina.
